Our Story

Free to Roam Solar was founded by Joel Trombley, a Master Automotive technician and RV enthusiast.

After experiencing full-time RV life I wanted to make it easier for fellow RV'ers to receive mobile high-quality repairs and maintenance wherever they may need it.

What started as a hobby in 2022, then being certified by the National Recreational Vehicle Association in 2023, it has grown into a thriving Full-time business with a loyal customer base.

Frequently Asked Questions

Solar power helps save on fuel costs, especially when used to replace generators. This also allows for reduced reliance on fossil fuels, making travel more eco-friendly. Solar energy enables RV owners to go off-grid and enjoy remote locations without worrying about power or noise.

Cost varies widely. Custom solar solutions can be tailored to fit the specific needs of different RV models, budget and customer preferences. This could include different panel sizes, additional battery capacity, or specialized systems for off-grid travel.

Check the battery regularly for corrosion and ensure it stays charged. If you're storing your RV for the winter, disconnect the battery or use a battery maintainer to keep it from draining. Clean the terminals with a mixture of baking soda and water to prevent corrosion.

Clean the filters and vents regularly to ensure proper airflow. If you’re using the AC, make sure the exterior unit is clear of debris (like leaves or dirt). For heating systems, inspect the propane tanks and connections. If you have a furnace, ensure it is serviced yearly.

RV tires should be replaced every 5-7 years, regardless of how much tread is left. This is because the rubber can deteriorate over time, increasing the risk of blowouts and accidents.
